Since 1964, the Acadian Museum has been educating the population of PEI and elsewhere on the topics of Acadian history and Prince Edward Island culture. It offers permanent and temporary exhibitions; a video presentation describing the history of the Island’s Acadians from 1720 to the present; a gallery of Claude Picard’s works illustrating the adoption of Acadian national symbols in 1884; an archives and genealogy centre; a gift shop filled with Acadian books and souvenirs.

The Museum also regularly offer activities such as talks, evening concerts and more. The Acadian Museum is one of seven Prince Edward Island Museum and Heritage sites.
