Come celebrate Rustico, the oldest continually settled Acadian community on Prince Edward Island.

This year the oldest house on the Island, the Doucet Log House is 250 years old.  We are offering experiential programming and meals by the fireplace in the Doucet House kitchen, featuring the unique flavours of Acadian food. Daily demonstrations; Picnic Lunches; and Evening Experiential Meals by Reservation.

The Farmers Bank is a National Historic Site and a symbol of Acadian survival. The Bank operated from 1861 to 1894 and was the precursor to Caisses populaires and the Credit Union Movement in North America. This building is a legacy of an extraordinary person, Rev. Georges-Antoine Belcourt, parish priest of Rustico from 1859 to 1869. Through his efforts he was able to establish the Farmers Bank, a school, a library, and an orchestra. He imported the first steam car to British North America in 1866.
